x"Mortal Engines "

Mortal Engines is a 2018 post-apocalyptic adventure film thatg is under-ditected and over-produced. The kudos go to the actors, SFX people and art director. The novel, publishe din 2001, is steeped in elements and themes form everythingf rm Star Wars to Marvel adventures. It only stands up for itself when it dwellson it's unique post-apocalyptic universe, butall too little. The two hours slog by like a rolelr coaster with square wheels. We seldom get the chance to feel anything for the chraacters which, I imagine, were more vivid inthe book.

Hundreds of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, a mysterious young woman, Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar), emerges as the only one who can stop London -- now a giant, predator city on wheels -- from devouring everything in its path.
